100 Words Or Less: “Charade”

Do you realize you’ve had three names in the past two days? I don’t even know who I’m talking to any more!

Meanwhile, the audience doesn’t know who it is watching — and that’s what is so fun about Charade. Silver-haired Cary Grant also has a silver tongue, not to mention more names than Puff Daddy. His deliver of screenwriter Peter Stone’s brisk, witty dialogue is impeccable, and he and Audrey Hepburn — America’s original sweetheart — go together like Lindsay Lohan and bad press. James Coburn and Walter Mattheau, looking so young you’ll hardly recognize them, co-star. After just one viewing, Charade will have you hooked like heroin — “peppermint-flavored heroin.”
