100 Words Or Less: “Out Of Sight”

Out Of Sight is Steven Soderbergh’s third best movie and arguably the best adaption of an Elmore Leonard novel ever. It’s smoother than both Tarantino’s Jackie Brown and Sonnenfeld’s Get Shorty. What really makes this pic sing is the chemistry between its stars — George Clooney and Jennifer Lopez. The Jack Foley role made Clooney the modern-day Cary Grant. Meanwhile, Lopez’s pre-J.Lo performance as Karen Sisco reminds us that, hey, she actually has some talent.  The film is kinda like the final road trip Clooney and Lopez share; it doesn’t last long (2 hours, 3 minutes), but it’s one helluva ride.
