Would Cameron Cast Schwarzenegger In “Avatar 2?”
If Arnold Schwarzenegger doesn’t run for the Senate when his term as Californian Governor ends this year, long-time buddy James Cameron thinks he could return to the silver screen. Which got me thinking, what are the chances that Cameron nabs Arnold to star in Avatar 2? Just because Ah-nuld can’t say Avatar doesn’t mean there isn’t a decent chance of this happening.
Arnold left Hollywood in the midst of a slump, so this would be his chance to come back for a swan song and leave with a bang. Meanwhile, Cameron will have to do something to top the first Avatar. Could that something be Ah-nuld?A Cameron-Schwarzenegger Avatar reunion would be a guaranteed box office hit.
Rumor has it that the Na’vi will retreat to Pandora’s core while still surving as guardians of the planet. If so, who better for Giovanni Ribisi and the RDA corporation to hire than Arnold to hunt down the Na’vi and secure all of the planet’s unobtanium once and for all. You could have Arnold be the body, the Avatar, with someone else serving as the mind and mouthpiece from a remote location. The ultimate Avatar and the ultimate Trojan Horse.
Arnold could be a retired soldier whose skills as a tracker and assassin are unmatched. You don’t even need a lot of dialogue — just bad-ass Arnold. Take it back to the early days when he just looked like a menacing monster. Arnie’s out of shape? Not inside that Avatar he isn’t, and, besides, he could get back into shape super quick. This is Arnold we are talking about. Pumping iron was his drug!
Since we haven’t seen it anywhere else, we thought we’d through this idea out there first.
