10 Memorable Movie Scenes Starring Christopher Walken

5. The Dead Zone (1983)

Johnny Smith awakens from a five-year coma with psychic abilities. He can see the most terrifying events in people’s lives just by touching them. Like for instance a house burning down. Freaky shit.

4. The Funeral (1996)

Ray Tempio is a brutal gangster seeking vengeance for his murdered brother. He has resigned himself to the fact that he will burn in hell for his evil deeds, which makes him all the more frightening.

3. At Close Range (1986)

Don’t let the 1970s pornstache fool you. Walken’s turn as rural Pennsylvania crime boss Brad Whitewood, Sr. is one of his scariest. Killing your own son to keep him quiet makes you one demented sicko.

2. Pulp Fiction (1994)

Captain Koons’ tale about the journey of the gold watch is my favorite scene in Pulp Fiction. Why? Every line Walken delivers is more hilarious than the next. He absolutely nails some of Tarantino’s best writing.

1. True Romance (1993)

Nobody crushes single scenes like Walken. He and Dennis Hopper’s exchange is verbal warfare at its finest. Hopper gets the better of him, but Walken’s mob underboss is the one with the gun. Don’t fuck with a Sicilian.

Too many to name but i will add the little “he’s about to paint his masterpiece” scene from Man on Fire.

  2. HollyWood Benjamin says:

Umm…Pool hall Junkies – the scene at the end with him and Chaz Palminteri. “I’m a Millionaire, THAT’S the difference. I lose 80, I go get another 80.” Epic.

Does his appearance on the small screen count? I remember a skit on SNL where he was a psychic who would glom onto people on the street and predict disasters happening to them. So funny. He introduces himself by saying, “I’m Christopher Walken and I KNOW!”, in his best Brooklyn accent. Then he would place his hands on the victim and start shaking like he was really afraid for them.

  16. fireballmage says:

It pas a marginal movie, but think the “piss drunk sergeant” scene between Walken and Matthew Broderick in Biloxi Blues was easily one of Walken’s best. #4 on this list IMHO.

  17. David says:

    What about Suicide Kings?

  18. Della says:

I like the picture when he was in a coma for years and when he came to, he could see the future. He killed the future president of the US

  19. Chazzz says:

My two favorite Walken roles…King of New York and The Deer Hunter.

  20. Davin says:

I thought it was coincidental that the first season of 24 completely ripped off “Nick of Time,” (evil guy kidnaps good guy’s daughter to blackmail him into killing a politician that is up for election in California, good guys rebels, there are moles in the politician’s camp, the movie and show happen in real time, etc.) and the main antagonist of the first season of 24 ended up being played by Dennis Hopper. At any rate. Walken kicks ass.

  21. RyanBeingManny says:

No one ever lists this on Walken lists, but I have always been partial to the buckwheats scene in Things to Do in Denver When You’re Dead. Underrated movie.
