100 Words Or Less: “First Blood”

If you haven’t seen First Blood, then you probably wouldn’t believe that the body count in this movie is minuscule. Oh, and that, per Sylvester Stallone’s request, the film focuses more on the police force trying to catch Rambo rather than the tortured Vietnam vet himself. Rather than just being a mindless carnival of blood like the latest Rambo (which isn’t a bad thing), this one truly dissects the horrors of war and the issues so many veterans had coming back from Vietnam. It’s a jarring movie if you were expecting wall-to-wall action, but it shows just how good an actor Stallone can be.
