100 Words Or Less: Kick-Ass

If you’re looking for a serious, groundbreaking comic book flick that you can even take the kids to, well, wait for Iron Man 2. If you’re looking for a quasi-spoof of Spider-Man, the “good” version of Nic Cage and an 11-year-old girl who’s a cross between the Bride and the Comedian, well, you’re in luck. Kick-Ass kicks the summer off early in a kick-ass manner. Like its protagonist, this one isn’t unique (well, besides its gore and kills). But, again like its protagonist, Matthew Vaugn’s superhero saga offers up a ton of heart. If only Vaughn would’ve stayed on X-Men 3. Sigh.
