it might not have been Ridley Scott’s choice. We all know hollywood producers are some of the dumbest people around and would rather see a safe mediocre film than something new. unfortunately they have the money, riding off someone elses talent.

If you had actually watched the film, you might have noticed that it WASN’T another regular ol’ Robin Hood. The story takes place much earlier than the typical legend of Robin Hood – it was more of a prelude to the story we are all familiar with. The Sheriff of Nottingham was barely even involved in the movie, even though he was traditionally the main villain.

So.. you want I dunno some kind of super action comedy version of the movie?

I think it is good they remade the classic (most likely with much action.. gladiator 2) robbin hood story. It has been a decade or so since the last anyway.

I personally think people such as the one who wrote this post (mostly young) people need to remember that not everything in entertainment has to been seen from that point of view. Movies can act as symbols for values that you admire and I think Robin Hood is one of those stories where if you were to take away the meaning it would be nothing.

I really liked the movie, I saw it last night and I thought it was absolutely amazing. But then again, some of us were actually hoping for something more along the lines of Gladiator. It was definitely everything I was expecting.

Uh, hello? In the books, Sherlock Holmes is a bare-knuckle boxer who regularly carries a gun, beats the shit out of multiple people with his cane, and is described an expert swordsman. He also mainlines coke on a regular basis.

Your clichéd description hasn’t been relevant since Jeremy Brett’s tenure started in 1984, over 25 years ago.

As a Robin Hood enthusiast, I can’t get enough Robin Hood. So a new movie is fine with me.

However, an adaptation of the book “Sherwood” by Parke Godwin would be right up your alley. The Sheriff is a sympathetic character in the book (Robin Hood and the Sheriff are both kind of good guys, even though they oppose each other), and it’s definitely a nice reinvention of the story.
