The Green Hornet Or A Tommy Boy Remake?

Finally, after years and months and days of patiently waiting, the creative minds behind the upcoming costumed crimefighter flick The Green Hornet threw us all a bone and revealed the first full-length trailer last night at some Hollywood party I wasn’t invited to. Director Michel Gondry was there and so was star Seth Rogen. Wow, that sounds awesome, but again, I wasn’t invited.

Nevertheless, the movie looks polished and funny in a where have I seen this before kinda way. It’s about a party boy/slacker who after the death of his wealthy father takes over the family business aided by his father’s dedicated assistant. Of course that business is kicking bad guy ass.

Hmm. All this seems very reminiscent of another movie about a pudgy, unmotivated party boy who takes over the family business with help from his deceased father’s trusty right-hand man. And that movie would be the Chris Farley classic Tommy Boy.

Ironically, both the Green Hornet and Tommy Boy possess cat-like quickness. The former will buzz into theaters next January. I’m sure it will attract hives of people. Let’s hope the critics don’t write stinging reviews. Okay, I’ll stop now.
