Ever since I watched King Arthur make mince meat of the Black Knight in Monty Python and the Holy Grail lo these many year ago, I’ve been fascinated with hack ‘n’ slash medieval flicks. Which is why I’m intrigued by director Chris Smith’s latest, Black Death.
The movie stars Sean Bean as a knight who teams with a monk to track down a necromancer (a person who can raise the dead) in a bubonic plague infected England. Nice. If the following clip is any indication, it looks to be a rip-roaring adventure filled with endless bloodletting and gruesome decapitations. It’s one of those “age-restricted” scenes, so if you’re 15, just lie about your age. No word on when/if it will hit US theaters.
