Today In Pointless Sequels: Major League 4
Writer/director David S. Ward must be feeling nostalgic. Either that or he’s hurting for cash having not helmed a movie since the utterly horrendous Down Periscope in 1996. Those are the only reasons I can think of as to why Ward feels compelled to reunite the cast of his smash hit Major League for a fourth installment.
According to Collider via Moviehole, Ward has written a script that would have Charlie Sheen’s “Wild Thing” character coming out of retirement to tutor a young phenom. In addition, Ward wants to bring back the likes of Tom Berenger, Wesley Snipes and Corbin Bernsen to reprise their roles. Best of all, should the latest chapter be a success, we might be in store for a whole new franchise of Major League goodness.
This sounds like a great idea. Between the wife beating Sheen and the tax evading Snipes, the on-set shenanigans could be epic. Toss in Berenger, who has been stuck in B-movie hell for over a decade, and Bernsen, who hasn’t appeared in a watchable film since 2005, and you’ve got a recipe for total disaster. I can’t wait.
Please, oh please Mr. Ward. Make this happen.

I think Moviehole had the scoop, not Collider?
That’s why it says “via Moviehole.”
