100 Words or Less: Ramona and Beezus

This is the type of grade-school fodder I’d almost just give a pass if it hadn’t already been done better this year in Diary of a Wimpy Kid – which was actually cute and kind of funny. Ramona and Beezus, on the other hand, is too poorly executed to resonate emotionally – even on the most superficial level. It’s slowly paced and isn’t particularly funny – even in that dumb, kids-movie sort of way. A romantic subplot featuring Ginnifer Goodwin and Josh Duhamel as Ramona’s aunt and her boyfriend is a little bit enjoyable, but adds nothing to the rest of the movie.
