Inception Prologue Comic Book Available Online

If the wait for Inception, the new film from The Dark Knight director Christopher Nolan, is becoming too much to handle, we might have a little something to hold you over for the next few days.

Warner Bros. has released, via Yahoo Movies, a thirty-four page online comic book, Inception: The Cobol Job. The comic – written by Jordan Goldberg and illustrated by Long Vo, Joe Ng and Crystal Reid – sets up and provides context for the job Dom Cobb (Leonardo DiCaprio) and his team are performing in the opening scene of the film. The movie starts in the middle of this event, so the comic acts as a direct prologue to the film.

Inception: The Cobol Job is a quick and fun read. It does a decent job introducing the two main characters and helps familiarize readers with the concept of dream-sharing. Like the film, it doesn’t explain everything, but it’s a good start. The comic is completely free of spoilers for the film, so it’s perfectly safe to read before seeing the movie.

The comic can be found, for free, here. The link opens up a built-in browser-based reader, but you can also download a PDF (which is what I recommend). Of course, it’s nowhere near as mind-blowing as the film, but it’s entertaining nonetheless.
