Monsters (Trailer)

I’ve been hearing good things about director Gareth Edwards’ low budget alien invasion movie Monsters since it began hitting the festival circuit earlier this year. For those unfamiliar with the flick, a NASA space probe with an alien life form attached to it crashes into Mexico making half of the country uninhabitable. Six years later, a journalist volunteers to escort a tourist through what it referred to as the “infected zone” in order to cross into the US. The film, which contains some pretty impressive special effects, was shot on a budget rumored to be well under $100,000. It has elements of District 9, Jurassic Park and War of the Worlds, minus all the bells and whistles that come with a multi-million dollar price tag. Monsters is set to hit theaters in October. The trailer looks kick-ass.
