More Bad News For M. Night Shyamalan
Despite a solid box office opening for The Last Airbender, ex-wunderkind M. Night Shyamalan is still feeling the heat. A rash of negative reviews and harsh audience responses are helping turn the writer/director into a Hollywood pariah.
Via Shock Till You Drop (love that name), comes word that Universal has dumped his name from an upcoming film titled Devil. Originally, it was supposed to fall under “The Night Chronicles” banner, a series of flicks produced by Shyamalan, hence the oh-so-clever reference to “Night.” Geesh, even his production company is hack.
I have no idea what Devil is about or how it might fare at the box office, but distancing itself from Shyamalan is a smart and very telling move by Universal. By most accounts, the guy has completely lost his touch.
A form of Yellow journalism along with a strange concerted explosion of hate from reviewers reflects a deep seeded social disease.
I agree. Shyamalan is a hack. 3/4 of his work is complete trash.. my statistical logic he sucks.. And if you have actually seen one of his movies (Besides 6th Sense or Signs) then you know how much he sucks. He wouldn’t be half as annoying if he didn’t think he was so great.
Any time I see a “Directed by, written by, produced by, or Presented by M Night Shyamalan.. I can only laugh.
Dude is a total and complete hack by all measures.
All I know is that The Last Airbender was dull and pathetic. I know fans of the show were upset,but even I was upset at how bad it really was.
