True Blood Recap: Three Things I Liked About Episode 5

Season three of True Blood is heating up. While Bill, Sookie, Tara and Eric all convene in Mississippi, Jason and Layfayette are both feeling the love back in Bon Temps; not with each other mind you, but with a wispy blonde named Crystal and Jesus the hunky male nurse respectively. In addition, Sam continues to wade through a closet full of family skeletons. But all the real drama is in Jackson, where Bill is fruitlessly attempting to con King Russell into believing he no longer has aspirations toward Sookie. Methinks matters are about to get very complicated for the vamp and his telepathic gal pal. Oh, and Eric is about to go on the warpath after discovering Russell killed his Viking parents and baby sis.

Here are three things I liked about episode five:

1. Franklin proudly displaying his texting prowess to a beleaguered Tara. Dude is seriously fu*ked up.

2. Jessica glamoring the couple not to tip Arlene. She continues to be a go-to source for laughs.

3. Russell bellowing “Fantastic!” after witnessing Sookie blast a werewolf with a mysterious blue light. That little girl sure can pack a punch. No wonder all the bloodsuckers want a piece of her.

That’s all I got. Until next week…
