The End Is Nigh For Entourage

This story broke on Friday, but I was too busy tearing down my meth lab (damn DEA) to pay it much notice. Via The Live Feed, HBO has mercifully pulled the plug on Entourage, the series that turned leeching off your rich friends into a viable career choice. A reported six-episode run will wrap the show in 2011. Sadly, producers and creator Doug Ellin are still considering a feature-length film. Sigh.

I gave up on the show after season four. The whole Medellin storyline was so drawn out and uninteresting, I had to bail. The characters had grown stale and the writing was nowhere near as sharp as it was in previous years. I guess people still watch, but a ratings slip and general lack of buzz surrounding the series was all HBO execs needed to shut it down. It’s the right decision, although it should’ve been made two years ago.

Bye, bye Entourage. I won’t miss ya.
