When Dwight Howard was traded to the Los Angeles Lakers last year, he became Hollywood Howard. But while he now may be on his way out of Los Angeles, he’s still getting his fix of the Hollywood lifestyle as Deadline is reporting Howard has joined the cast of the Owen Wilson and Woody Harrelson film Free Birds.
And no, his role doesn’t feature him as a duck, as amazing as that would be.
According to Deadline, Howard will voice Cold Turkey, one of three Wild Turkey’s that Reggie, voiced by Owen Wilson and Jake, voiced by Woody Harrelson meet in their travels in the film.
Los Angeles Lakers star Dwight Howard has found something to keep him busy during the off season. He has joined the voice cast of Relativity and Reel FX’s Free Birds.
Apparently, the plot of the film revolves around the Wilson and Harrelson’s characters who travel back in time in an effort to stop people from eating turkey’s on Thanksgiving. Deadline reports that Amy Poehler, George Takei, Dan Fogler, Colm Meaney, Eddie ‘Piolin’ Sotelo, Danny Carey, Josh Lawson and Keith David are all going to voice characters in the film that is being co-produced by Clerks producer and Kevin Smith buddy Scott Mosier.
It took him long enough to be in Hollywood and be cast in a film, but Howard is headed to the big screen but don’t expect him to push to be in a reboot of Space Jam anytime soon.
