The Hunger Games was a smash hit in 2012 making well over $600 million at the box office. But while it didn’t make an appearance at Comic-Con 2011, Deadline is reporting that the film will indeed have a panel at this year’s event and star Jennifer Lawrence may join the exclusive festivities.
Is Jennifer Lawrence is heading to San Diego next month? She might be. Lionsgate announced today that talent from The Hunger Games: Catching Fire and I, Frankenstein will be appearing on a panel at Comic-Con 2013 on July 20.
Lawrence is currently having the best year of her career so far as she’s not only a box office star but she’s an Academy Award winning actress as well. Her performance in X-Men: First Class also means that an appearance at Comic-Con would surely get more than a few people riled up and she’d without a doubt be a star.
As has been demonstrated numerous times before, becoming popular within the Comic-Con circles is a sure fire way to boost your credibility and ensure that a film gets the hype that it needs. Lawrence is considered to be one of the most attractive and down to earth actresses in Hollywood today, which goes a long way with the Comic-Con crowd who find actors in films they love aren’t always warm to their fandom.
She really has nothing to lose by showing up at Comic-Con and putting her on the billing will likely bring in more than just the usual crowd to Comic-Con this year.
