When The Expendables came out, the big draw was it’s orgy of action stars ranging from Jet Li to Dolph Lundgren and Sylvester Stallone. But we all have been waiting decades for Stallone to team up with action star buddy Arnold Schwarzenegger and our wait it finally over. Escape Plan stars both action stars in leading roles and will hit theaters later this year but it’s going to be screened early at this year’s Comic-Con and both Stallone and Schwarzenegger will be there to unveil it to fans.
Comic-Con just got an extra dose of testosterone. Action stars Sylvester Stallone and Arnold Schwarzenegger will attend this year’s San Diego convention for a special screening of their upcoming film, Escape Plan.
It’s obviously not going to be up for any Oscars but its an action film at least 30 years in the making. There are few action stars more commercially known in America than Schwarzenegger and Stallone and to finally ahve them fighting together is something that is sure to make a lot of fans happy.
There is real hope that this film isn’t just absolute trash and if it ends up being so, you’ll truly know it’s no good. Expectations in terms of story quality are not high, so Stallone and Schwarzenegger don’t need to do much more than what they’re known for in order to make this film enjoyable.
Having to the two at Comic-Con though is a gift in of itself and it’s sure to make at least one screening of the film wildly enjoyable.
