Marshall Mathers LP 2: Academy Award Winning Rapper Eminem is Producing Sequel to 2000 Hit Album

It’s been 13 years since rapper turned actor Eminem released his breakthrough album The Marshall Mathers LP but for fans waiting to hear more of what Slim Shady has been up to, the wait is almost over. In a series of Beats by Dre commercials, as well as posting it on his official website, Eminem announced that he will be releasing The Marshall Mathers LP 2 this November 5th.

Judging from the promos, specifically the second ‘trailer’, it appears Slim Shady is back in full force and the introspective soul searching that the rapper had been doing for the past half decade seems to be behind him. Eminem burst onto the scene in the late 90s thanks to his alter ego Slim Shady, a foul mouthed and offensive cynic that hates the world and wants to watch it burn.

But the real Marshall Mathers struggled with drug addiction for most of the 2000s but he seems to have conquered his demons enough to come after them with Slim by his side. Moviegoers will remember Eminem for his role in 8 Mile where he played himself but turned in a pretty spectacular and surprisingly good performance.

He’s had cameos here and there but Eminem is one thing many in Hollywood strive to be — an Academy Award winner. He took home Oscar gold back in 2002 when he won Best Original Song for ‘Lose Yourself’.

His acting career may not be in the forefront of his mind at the moment but no one can deny that Eminem is a wildly talented individual who’s likely not going to be stepping away from the camera anytime soon. The new single from Eminem’s upcoming album called ‘Berzerk’ drops on Tuesday.
