Just when you thought the cast of Fast & Furious 7 couldn’t get anymore full, Lucas Black has to go and jump on at the last minute. THe Tokyo Drift actor has signed on for not one but three Fast and Furious sequels. According to a report from Deadline, Black has signed on for Fast & Furious 7 as well as the aptly named Fast 8 and Fast 9.
Lucas Black, who starred in Fast & Furious 3: Tokyo Drift, is returning to reprise his Sean Boswell role in Fast & Furious 7. Black, most recently seen as Pee Wee Reese in the Jackie Robinson film 42, has signed a deal that calls for his character to become a regular in the series and he will be part of at least the next three installments of Universal Pictures’ most lucrative film franchise. Fast & Furious 7 will be released next July 11.
Now this is the part where you have to struggle in what you want to take away from that saturated blurb. On the one hand, Black isn’t only returning to the series he’s doing so in a regular role which means he’ll be right up there with Vin Diesel and Paul Walker. This of course makes sense if you’re one of the five people to have made it all the way through Tokyo Drift as Diesel shows up at the end to recruit Black’s character.
The other thing to take away from this is Diesel and company seem hellbent on making at least two more Fast & Furious films after this yet to be released seventh film in the franchise.
I suppose if Riddick flopped hard onto it’s face, you have to go back to something familiar don’t you?
