Meryl Streep is one of the most gifted actresses to have ever graced hollywood with her presence. Taylor Swift is that annoying sound your radio makes whenever it’s on a pop station. Somehow, the world of movie has brought them together in the same setting as pop star Taylor Swift has joined the cast of The Giver.
Per a report from Entertainment Weekly:
After more than 15 years of development hell, a film adaptation of Lois Lowry’s Newbery-winning 1993 novel The Giver will finally begin production next month — with singer Taylor Swift in one of its supporting roles. The Weinstein Company announced Swift’s casting today in a release that also names the rest of the film’s principals, many of whom have been attached to The Giver for months.
Swift has been trying to bridge her music career with that of an acting one, but so far she hasn’t had too much luck. Besides some guest appearances on shows like New Girl and a role in Valentines Day, Swift’s acting resume is hardly impressive.
But she’s getting what could amount to a big break by being gifted with the chance to star with Oscar winning actors like Meryl Streep and Jeff Bridges. She’s perfect for the role though as all she does is give and give and give, only to get her little heart broken. What she does with the chance is yet to be seen, but the Hollywood stars have aligned for Swift and her supporting role in The Giver could kickstart the next phase of her career.
