This past summer when Batman vs. Superman finally announced by Warner Bros, fans all over the world rejoiced over the fact that DC’s answer to Marvel’s Avengers was here. The epic matchup has fans hoping that a Justice League movie isn’t far off, but while many are looking to the future, a Justice League movie already almost happened.
ScreenCrush.com came across a script penned back in 2006 that would have seen Warner Bros and DC beat Marvel to the ensemble superhero punch with a Justice League movie directed by Mad Max helmer George Miller and starring the likes of Armie Hammer as Batman and Adrien Brody as The Flash.
Other casting notes from the cancelled film included Hugh Keays-Byrne as Martian Manhunter, Teresa Palmer as Talia Al Ghul, Zoe Kazan as Iris Allen, Santiago Cabrera as Aquaman, Jay Baruchel as Maxwell Lord and Common as Green Lantern. Australian model Megan Gale was all lined up to play Winder Woman.
As noted, the script is just awful and likely could have set DC and all comic book movies back years. It’s truly an atrocious script, but if you’d like to read it, ScreenCrush has you covered.
Are you glad that Warner Bros. canned this version of a Justice League movie or do you think the cast could have saved the film? Sound off below and let us know.
