It hasn’t been rivalry as storied as those that have been around College Football for 50 years, but the rivalry between the Florida State Seminoles and Miami Hurricanes has tried to pack las much as it possibly can into the last 30 years of meeting each other. Both schools have won national championships in the last 20 years and both have knocked each other off track to winning one more than a few times.
That’s the setting and the story for tonight’s matchup as the No. 3 ranked Florida State Seminoles as they take on a Miami Hurricanes team also ranked in the top 10. Never before has there been this much on the line when these two teams have met. Both the Seminoles and the Canes are vying for a spot not only in a BCS bowl game at the end of the year but a spot in the national championship game.
Most of these players have played against one another their entire lives and are now coming back together in the biggest game of their lives up to this point in their careers. There is a ton on the line tonight in what can be called a BCS playoff game if there’s ever been one this season so far. The winner catapults themselves in the polls and the loser will likely sink below the top 10.
