Halloween is in our rearview, but that doesn’t mean we’re done talking about ghosts — ghostbusters specifically. It’s been a while since we’ve heard an update on the long rumored Ghostbusters 3 but Schmoes Knows has a scoop for us that finally gives fans some movement on the project.
According to the site, Oscar nominated actor Jonah Hill and actress Emma Stone have been offered what can only be lead roles in Ghostbusters 3. The roles belong to characters called Jeremy and Anna, but beyond that not much at all is known about the roles our how they fit into the film.
Now comes word from The Phantom that there is some movement (finally). Said movement has to do with TWO ACTORS that have been offered deals for the Bill Murray-less sequel. We have it on good authority that none other than Jonah Hill and Emma Stone have been offered the parts of Jeremy and Anna respectively.
This isn’t confirmed movement on the picture but it’s defiantly something we’ve been waiting to hear for a while and something we’ve been listing to bubble under the surface for a month or so now. But it’s out in the open which means we’ll likely get word on it sometime soon.
If the threequel does eventually happen, Bill Murray won’t be appearing, and that void likely will be filled by Jonah Hill playing his son or some sort of replacement character. Hill helped reboot the 21 Jump Street franchise and we could see a similar thing happen here, albeit with less parody.
