We’ve been waiting over a year to see what was next from legendary director Christopher Nolan now that he’s wrapped up his epic Dark Knight Trilogy and today we got the glimpse we’ve been waiting for. Legendary released the first trailer for Nolan’s new film Interstellar and while it barely shows us any actual footage from the movie, it has melted our imaginations n anticipation.
Nolan sues stock footage and a voice over from lead actor Matthew McConaughey to give us a taste of mankind’s past accompaniments in air and space travel, with the trailer ending with a rocket being launched into space. Never before have we seen so little footage from a movie yet been so excited from it’s trailer.
There’s isn’t an in-depth synopsis for the movie yet but with Nolan’s pictures, we’re better off going in not knowing much. The only synopsis that exists simply reads:
When a wormhole (which hypothetically connects widely-separated regions of spacetime) is newly discovered, a team of explorers and scientists embark on a voyage through it to transcend previous limitations on human space travel
It’s also said that the movie will involve time travel and alternate dimensions which means Nolan might actually be trying to melt our brains and break out hearts at the same time like he did with his 2010 film Inception. In addition to the mind-bending plot, Nolan also assembled an insanely talented cast that includes Matthew McConaughey, Jessica Chastain, Casey Affleck, Anne Hathaway, Bill Irwin and Michael Caine, not to mention other recognizable faces like Topher Grace, Wes Bently, John Lithgow and Matt Damon in an uncredited mystery role.
So it’s safe to say that while we have plenty of superhero movies coming out next year, the most anticipated film of the year is without a doubt Interstellar and we literally cannot wait to see what’s in store.
