This summer marks the official release of The Amazing Spider-Man 2 but we are starting to learn more and more about the film as time passes. From the trailers we saw to the photos and posters that keep getting released, The Amazing Spider-Man 2 still has a lot of mystery surrounding it but we’re starting to get better grip on things.
One of the reasons for that is that actors and filmmakers behind The Amazing Spider-Man 2 are starting to talk more about their roles in the film. Most recently, Chris Cooper spoke with MovieFone.com and dropped some cryptic details about his character Norman Osborne.
For those who don’t know, Norman is Harry Osborne’s father and in the comic books is one of the versions of The Green Goblin. As we’ve seen already, Norman is skipped over and Harry becomes Green Goblin in The Amazing Spider-Man 2 but Cooper still hints that his character could end up being very important — if he lives long enough.
All I can is this is a very strange introduction for Norman Osborn. I just can’t reveal why it’s that way, but this is not the beginning of Norman. It is the introduction, but it’s not the beginning, and I think that’s as far as I can go.
We’ve seen stills from the film that suggest Norman is sick and we even got major hints at that in the last movie as well. But Cooper also hints at the third movie potentially being big for him, which seems to suggest Norman won’t meet his end in The Amazing Spider-Man 2, but his illness could play a role in the decisions Harry ends up making.
We will find out when The Amazing Spider-Man 2 hits theaters on May 2, 2014.
