As we all wait for the 2015 comic book movie showdown that Batman vs. Superman appears it will be, Warner Bros isn’t the only studio looking to pit it’s flagship superhero franchises against one another. According to the investment blog The Motley Fool, 20th Century Fox is planning on crossing over Fantastic Four with X-Men in a movie that seems as though it will follow a classic comic storyline that pitted the two supergroups against one another.

Per The Motley Fool:

Based on a 1987 four issue comic called Fantastic Four vs. X-Men, the movie will see the characters against each other because of secrets regarding the Fantastic Four’s origin. The new movie also comes as Fox is rebooting the Fantastic Four series with new actors and actresses.

Bleeding Cool cautions that this might not be a movie that goes into production as the Fantastic Four reboot has yet to even officially cast the film let alone look ahead to a future sequel. But there have been rumblings of a Fantastic Four and X-Men crossover and the Fantastic Four vs. X-Men may be something that makes sense for Fox.

Either way, a crossover seems like it’s going to happen and the fact that an investment blog is on the news means that this crossover business goes all the way to the top at Fox and is being considered more seriously than we thought.

I love this stuff. X-men and Ninja Turtles. Iron Man. If I had these movies when I was a kid, I would have freaked out.

Whaaaaaaattttt?!? No freaking way! This has gotta be a good thing in some way or another. I just want to know what the new ff4 cast is like already though. Recent rumors have indicated they are going for a reboot.

Lets see, Xmen movie franchise as a whole have bastardized the comic to such a degree that they’re seen as a joke requiring a “reboot” of sorts to try and make good again, Fantastic Four movies were so awful one of the main characters became Captain America before the series was cancelled and is looking to be rebooted. Sure I see NOTHING wrong that can happen with an Xmen vs FF movie.
