The Best of Film in 2013

12 Years A Slave
While I am not a professional critic in the same sense that others are, I’m posting my awards for this year’s crop in film.

Like the past few years, any film that is released limited but does not open locally until after the new year is not eligible for this past year’s awards. Unfortunately for me, Alexander Payne’s Nebraska, starring the likes of Bruce Dern, Will Forte, and June Squibb, stopped playing locally at the indie theater after 11 days–before I had a chance to see it with the crowded movie season. I have to see a film to consider it for my awards–I don’t vote trailers. So, without any further adieu, I present the Solzy Awards for the Best of Film in 2013.
