We’re nearing the summer 2014 movie season and while it’s only the second day of the new year, we’re all looking forward to what could end up being vastly underrated movie year. With all eyes on 2015 and massive blockbusters like Batman vs. Superman and Star Wars Episode VII, this year’s slate of films aren’t getting the love they otherwise should.
One of the more under-the-radar movies is Family Guy creator Seth MacFarlane’s follow up to his directorial debut Ted. MacFarlane has been grinding away on his latest film, A Million Ways to Die in the West, and after boasting that test screenings have been going good, the first image of the film has bee released to hype the movie.
The film focuses on a farmer who chickens out of a gun fight but then becomes entangled with the girlfriend of a ruthless outlaw. This leads to self discovery amid the backdrop of the old west and likely a slew of politically incorrect jokes about the time period and just in general.
A Million Ways to Die in the West features a cast that MacFarlane again called in favors on, just as he did with Ted. But MacFarlane is a likable guy, so it’s not surprising that he’s befriended and cast the likes of Neil Patrick Harris, Charlize Theron and Amanda Seyfried.
Seth MacFarlane’s next big screen adventure hits theaters later this year.
