The summer movie season of 2015 is locked and loaded with films like Batman vs. Superman, Avengers: Age of Ultron and Terminator: Genesis among a slew of franchise films set to come out with major films. One of those major franchises ready for a comeback is Jurassic Park as the film franchise is making a return with Jurassic World next summer.
But while the cast is starting to fill out, one familiar face may not be returning to the series as Sam Neill has spoke about the series no longer needing him or his character of Dr. Alan Grant.
“I think there’s a whole new cast and a whole new look at things, and I think that’s great,” said Neill. “As I said, I’d never say no, but I wish them… well, I’m sure it’s going to be great, but they don’t need me.”
There is still hope from fans that some old faces from the original film will return, as Jeff Goldblum and Laura Dern haven’t spoken on casting rumors just yet. As it stand now, Bryce Dallas Howard and Christ Pratt are headlining the rebooted cast with Josh Brolin heavily rumored to be starring as the film’s lead character.
With Neill out of the picture, the Jurassic Park films we fell in love with in the 90s are officially relics of the past, but this new cast has the blessing of Neill which means that a whole new generation can fall in love with movies the way we did when we we growing up.
