Last night, while mostly everyone was watching the Golden Globes, HBO showed off the long awaited and much anticipated first trailer for the new season of Game of Thrones. After a long blackout on information, the network is finally starting to get behind promotion for the new season, and their Sunday night of premieres was the perfect time for the new trailer to debut.
If you haven’t seen it already, the trailer teases some heavy action this season and fans of the series have been waiting far too long to dive back into the action.
Last week we learned that the show finally has a premiere date and that April 6, 2014 is the date we will all shelve our lives for an hour and dig back into one of the best shows on television. While the Golden Globes failed to honor Game of Thrones last night, the trailer and the new season will be watched about ten times over compared to the awards show, so there’s not a whole lot of worrying from the fan base over the lack of acclaim.
Critics love the show, fans are addicted to it and HBO isn’t going to be placing it anywhere other than it’s prime Sunday night slot starting in April.
