Oscars 2014: Best Actor Nominations

The Oscar nominations were handed out this morning and we finally get to see what all the hype in 2013 will lead to. Awards season is upon us and everything will culminate with the Oscars in March when Ellen DeGeneres hosts the big show.

Best Actor is perhaps the mist loaded category of the year and has featured, as expected, some aggressive and insane snubs. With 10 actors nominated for Golden Globes, only five could get nods at the Oscars and while the snubs will be talked to death, let’s focus on the lucky five who got nominations.

Unlike other categories this year, there is no clear favorite here and the drama will go right up to the very end. Perhaps a frontrunner will emerge as we near the Oscars, but for now, this category is wide open and will be the most discussed of the Oscars.

Here’s the official Oscar nominations for Best Actor:

Best Actor

Christian Bale — American Hustle
Leonardo DiCaprio — The Wolf of Wall Street
Bruce Dern — Nebraska
Matthew McConaughey — Dallas Buyers Club
Chitwetel Ejiofor — 12 Years a Slave
