Last Sunday, the world was gifted with brand new footage from the brand new season of Game of Thrones. After suffering through a holiday season that saw HBO clamp down on just about any information about the new season, the trailer last week gave us a release date and impressive new footage.
But we want more, and the April 2014 premiere date for the new season seems so far away. Thankfully, the folks at HBO have released a new behind-the-scenes feature that shows off more footage and gives us a look inside the production of the new season.
The cast of the news season has also started to fill out, as HBO has cast Joel Fry as Hizdahr zo Loraq, Roger Ashton-Griffiths as Mace Tyrell, Indira Varma as Oberyn’s lover Ellaria Sand, and ‘Sherlock’ star Mark Gatiss as Tycho Nestoris. The show has also replaced some roles with new actors, as Michiel Huisman will replace Ed Skrein as Daario Naharis, and Hafthor Julius Bjornsson was cast in the role of Gregor “The Mountain” Clegane.
What fans really want to see is not casting information, but new footage and story information from the new season. HBO is going to be cautious about what they release, but we can expect more and more promotional material like this as we near the April premiere date.
