The first trailer for Terry Gilliam’s Zero Theorem has finally arrived and we’re not entirely sure what to think of it. While every Terry Gilliam film is a visual feast and an art director’s dream — or nightmare depending on who you are — Zero Theorem looks to be perhaps a bit too ambitious for moviegoers.
Gilliam doesn’t make films for moviegoers though, he makes art for film fanatics and that’s what the trailer for Zero Theorem makes the film look like. Christoph Waltz stars as a man trying to find the meaning of human existence in and he’s going to do so by taking a trip down a warped version of The Matrix.
Here’s a synopsis of Zero Theorem if you still need some things explained to you:
A computer hacker’s goal to discover the reason for human existence continually finds his work interrupted thanks to the Management; this time, they send a teenager and lusty love interest to distract him.
The movie definitely looks like something everyone is going to be checking out, if for nothing else than out of curiosity. Trailers are supposed to make you intrigued by a movie and that’s no doubt what happens with the trailer for Zero Theorem.
