When Breaking Bad came to an end on AMC, fans of the series weren’t sure what to do with themselves. then series creator Vince Gilligan announced a spinoff starring Bob Odenkirk’s character Saul Goodman and all of a sudden the sadness turned to happiness.
That happiness has evolved big time today as word came out that a major Breaking Bad star and fan favorite will be reprising his role on the new series this fall.
According to Deadline, Jonathan Banks will be returning to the character of Mike Ehrmantraut in Better Call Saul and will be doing so as a series regular.
Banks will be a series regular on the show conceived by Breaking Badcreator Vince Gilligan and Breaking Bad writer-producer Peter Gould. The prequel series, slated to debut on AMC in November, will chronicle the evolution of Saul before he ever became Walter White’s lawyer. The deal with Banks means that Saul will have his trusted private investigator/fixer Michael “Mike” Ehrmantraut by his side.
What this means is that Banks won’t just be dropping in as Mike for a few cameo appearances here and there. Rather, he’s going to be around all the time and is likely to be featured heavily in almost every single episode.
fans were already looking forward to Better Call Saul before today, but news of Banks’ role as a series regular just got everyone even more exited that they already were.
