Marvel continues to grow and grow in the movie business and it’s starting to slowly take over. Thanks to their relationship with Disney, the company is all over the place and will only continue to seek products as more and more movies come out.
After seeing Iron Man, Captain America, Thor and Hulk get their own franchises, Marvel is branching out with another solo character franchise in Scarlett Johansson’s Black Widow character. The studio confirmed on Wednesday that a solo project is in the works and that Black Widow is getting her own film.
Marvel movie president Kevin Feige spoke to Total Film about Captain America 2 and how Scarlett Johansson has her biggest role yet in a Marvel film when he dropped this bomb on us all:
We learn more about her past and learn more about where she came from and how she became in that film. The notion of exploring that even further in her own film would be great, and we have some development work with that.
A solo project for Johansson at Marvel is huge news as the actress is perhaps one of the most bankable stars working today. Marvel has the in with her and seems to be countering news that Warners is producing a Wonder Woman movie by getting in on the female super hero business themselves.
