When Back to the Future Part II was released back in the late 80s, Robert Zemekis and company took a gander into the future to give us what life in Hill Valley would be like in the 2010s. While we still don’t have the flying cars that were predicted not only in that film but every science fiction film ever made, we are getting some of the technology that was featured in the film.
According to the fashion website Sole Collector, the power-lace Nike shoes that Marty McFly wore in Back to the Future Part II are making a comeback and will be released in 2015.
During an appearance at the Jordan Brand’s Flight Lab space in New Orleans earlier today, designer Tinker Hatfield was asked about the possibility of seeing power lacing next year, and his answer may surprise you.
“Are we gonna see power laces in 2015? To that, I say YES!” said Hatfield.
As Sole Collector points out, it’s unclear if these will be the actual model that Michael J. Fox had in Back to the Future II or if this will jus the an introduction of power-laces.
