If you didn’t catch the first run of Anchorman 2, you’re in luck as the film is coming back to theaters. But the film that is returning to theaters at the end of the month is actually an alternate version of Anchorman 2 as director Adam McKay states that jokes we haven’t heard before have been swapped in for ones we have.
According to Adam McKay, the film is returning to theaters on February 28th and will include over 700 new jokes that we didn’t hear in the film the firs time it was in theaters.
“When my editor told me we had a whole different version of the movie that was more than two hours long with nearly 800 new jokes, I was shocked. But when Paramount said they were actually going to put it in theaters, I did an 1950′s spit take. If you’re a hardcore Anchorman fan go see this. If you’re not, stay very far away.”
The new version of the film will carry an ‘R’ rating, something that will either greatly help the film or just make it seen worse. Anchorman flourished thanks to it’s unrated version, but this could also sink the film even lower into the depths of lowbrow humor.
We will find out soon though, as Anchorman 2 is hitting theaters — again — on February 28th.
