Earlier on Friday night, the internet was abuzz when Deadline reported that Space Jam 2 was finally moving forward with LeBron James as the star of the film. But just hours after the rumors surfaced, Brian Windhorst from ESPN.com refuted the rumors thanks to information passed along to him directly from LeBron James’ camp.
Well it was fun while it lasted. LeBron sources refute Deadline report, there’s no Space Jam 2 or Warner Bros. project in works
— Brian Windhorst (@WindhorstESPN) February 22, 2014
Windhorst is the Miami Heat beat writer for ESPN and is plugged in beyond belief. He doesn’t just report any old thing he hears, so his report definitely holds water and does more so thanks to the fact that it’s reportedly coming straight from LeBron James’ camp.
All hope is not lost that James may reconsider, but for the time being, it appears that LeBron James will not vein Space Jam 2 and our wait for the sequel to happen will have to wait.
