The NBA world and the world of comic books crossed over recently thanks to the mask that Miami Heat star LeBron James had to wear after breaking his nose against the Oklahoma City Thunder earlier in the month. When a basketball player breaks his nose, he doesn’t have to sit out, rather he simply has to wear a protective mask to prevent further damage if hit.

Obviously the mask isn’t a full protector, but LeBron managed to pick one that at least looked crazy badass. The NBA was opposed to his Batman-style mask but the folks at Marvel decided to give him one he may like instead.

LeBron obviously won’t be wearing the mask, but the mock drawing comes on the heels of his career-high 61 point night. It’s also interesting to note that LeBron is being drawn up as a hero where as two years ago he was vilified around the NBA.

He’s brought home two NBA titles to Miami and a gold medal with Team USA — meaning he’s not a bad candidate for Captain America.

Never understood the appeal of this one. Then again, I just don’t follow sports period. Highly overrated.

      What’s overrated, LeBron James?

Look, I’m a moderate basketball fan, a Boston Celtics fan, and seeing James beat them and many others over the last ten-ish years, I can assure you he’s not overrated. I don’t like him, but the guy’s a physical marvel, no pun intended.
