A trailer has surfaced for the highly awaited TV adaptation of the Coen Brothers’ classic film Fargo, which starred Francis McDormand, Steve Buscemi and William H. Macy. Macy starred as a car salesman desperate for money who turned to a group of criminals as a way of getting a ransom from his wealthy father-in-law. The film will be made into a ten-part drama series, which will star Martin Freeman and Billy Bob Thornton after being announced by FX in 2012.
The series is scheduled to premiere on April 15 in the US, and will air later that month in the UK on Channel 4. Also confirmed to appear in the series are Colin Hanks, son of beloved actor Tom, and Bob Odenkirk, who played Saul in the hugely popular Breaking Bad.
Martin Freeman stars in the show as an insurance salesman named Lester Nygaard, who gets himself in deep trouble with the wrong sort of people. Not a lot is revealed by the trailer, though more is likely to be revealed in the coming weeks.
