Video - New trailer for the must-see The Raid 2: Berandal revealed

After the success of the first instalment, The Raid 2 looks even bigger and better. The first trailer was good, but this second teaser (courtesy of IGN) is something quite special.

The film was released at the Sundance Film Festival on 21 January of this year and has hitherto received overwhelmingly positive reviews. The first film, subtitled Redemption, received positive critics though nothing quite near the response for the second film. As a low budget Indonesian film, the franchise has been deemed one of the more surprising recent successes, especially considering the lack of star names.

Director Gareth Evans confirmed that the second film will have a “significantly bigger budget” (source) and this has so far paid off, having received five-star ratings from some of the most respected critics in the industry, including Total Film and Screen Rant. Something tells me a third film will be announced fairly soon.

In the second instalment, Rama still has business to deal with after fighting a plethora of madmen in the first film. With his family in danger, he has no option but to continue where he left of and add to his list of victims. Expect more of the same, multiplied by one-hundred in another action packed two-and-a-half hour long feature.

The Raid 2 will be released on 28 March, 2014 in the US, with a 11 April, 2014 date set for the UK premiere.
