Man, does the new X-Men film look incredible. The new addition, Days of the Future Past, is set to be released on May 22 in the US with a star studded cast and high hopes. The film is based on a 1980 comic of the same name, appearing in the Marvel comic book ‘The Uncanny X-Men’.
With Hugh Jackman, James McAvoy, Patrick Stewart, Ian McKellen, Michael Fassbender, Jennifer Lawrence and Halle Berry, to name just a few, set to appear in the film, it quite possibly has the greatest ensemble in recent memory (narrowly beating unfunny flop Movie 43 to this mantle).
The trailer features the beauty of Jennifer Lawrence, the amazing voices of Ian McKellen and Patrick Stewart, explosions, Wolverine, dramatic music and carnage – what else does a trailer need? Simply awesome. There is also a snippet that shares similarities to The Dark Night Rises, with a large stadium collapsing in the midst of the carnage.
So far, so good for the highly awaited sequel to the critically acclaimed X-Men: First Class, with the trilogy set to end with in 2016 with ‘Apocalypse’ scheduled for a May 27 release. The film also acts as a sequel for the third addition of the previous trilogy, entitled ‘The Last Stand’, and will be directed by the man behind the first and second films of the previous series, Bryan Singer.
