Norman Reedus joins John Hillcoat’s Triple Nine

Deadline’s Mike Fleming is reporting that The Walking Dead‘s Norman Reedus has joined the ensemble cast of Triple Nine for director John Hillcoat (The Road).

The plot centers around a group of corrupt cops who get blackmailed by the Russian mob to pull off a virtually impossible heist. Their plan revolves around providing a 999 as a distraction, 999 being the code for “officer down.” The rookie cop they plan to let die ruins their plans.

Daryl Dixon and Jesse Pinkman will be in the same movie, as it co-stars Aaron Paul, as well as Casey Affleck, Kate Winslet, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Woody Harrelson, Anthony Mackie, and Gal Gadot (who’ll play Wonder Woman in the upcoming Batman/Superman movie).

It’s the first big movie role for Reedus since the 45-year-old actor rediscovered cult status as America’s favorite zombie killer. He’d previously been best known as Murphy McManus from The Boondock Saints, and he’d had success as a supporting actor in films like 8MM and Blade II.
