This according to Universal, according to Buzzfeed–who has confirmed that Tina Fey and Amy Poehler will co-star in their first film together since Baby Mama. It’s been almost ten years since Mean Girls. TEN YEARS. 2004, we hardly knew thee.
The title of the film hardly matters, but it will be called The Nest, and be written by Paula Pell, one of my absolute favorite follows on Twitter and a longtime writer on Saturday Night Live. The movie will center on two sisters coming home to their parents’ home that’s been put up for sale; the result is obvious–family feuding and hopefully lots and lots (and lots) of shame.
Tina Fey will also be producing the film through her company Little Stranger Inc.; Amy Poehler will similarly be doing some producing and all that jazz. We will have more news as it becomes more newsy.
If you’re not on Cloud Nine, you’re not human. To help ease the anticipation, watch Amy Poehler in the best comedy on television, NBC’s Parks and Recreation, Thursdays at 8:30 ET on NBC. I’ve been in 30 Rock withdrawals for approximately 12423825 hours so this is just the news I needed to make it through to…tomorrow.
Mandatory Game of Thrones reference–because we’re cool n’ hip here at Flicksided.
