Captain America: The Winter Soldier faced stiff competition from Rio 2 but ultimately triumphed, keeping its #1 spot. It’s already grossed $476 million worldwide. The Marvel Universe will conquer us all.

The opening for Rio 2 was almost identical to the first Rio movie. If it does the same business foreign and domestic, then Fox will be happy, and Rio 3 will happen. Reviews aren’t as positive for the sequel however, so it’ll be interesting to see how it does in its second and third weekend.

Oculus has come to fill the horror void. Made for a modest $5 million, this debut for writer-director Mike Flanagan is a positive one. Draft Day is the latest vehicle reminding us Kevin Costner was a star.
