Game of Thrones Season 4 Episode 10 Preview "The Children"

I believe this is the fourth season in a row that when the season finale promo started playing after the 9th Game of Thrones episode my husband yelled out something like “What?” “No!” Because ten episodes of Game of Thrones is just not enough. It’s actually shocking that they cover the amount of story that they do in such a short amount of time. But 10 episodes is once again all we will get and this one won’t have Ygritte in it (I knew they were going to kill someone I loved in episode 9!). But there are some things we do know about the season finale of Game of Thrones.

Synopsis of Episode 10: “The Children”

Circumstances change after an unexpected arrival from north of the Wall. Daenerys must face harsh realities. Bran learns more about his destiny. Tyrion sees the truth about his situation.

I love how shows like Game of Thrones (Breaking Bad also did this) don’t wait until the final episode to throw something amazing at the audience. Episode 9 “The Watchers on the Wall” was arguably the most thrilling and best executed episode of the entire series. But there are still a ton of loose ends for the season finale. The promo gives us some hints at what the last episode has in store for us.

Dragons! I’ve been waiting for dragons . . . since the last time we saw dragons. Glad that they and Daenerys are back for the season finale. Also back is the dysfunctional family of the century winners, the Lannisters. I assume (dangerous I know) that we will have some closure to Tyrion’s fate which seems very dependent on his siblings and fathers actions. It looks like Bran will reach the tree he has been seeing in his visions and we will find out if Arya gets to reunite with her sister Sansa. But the part I am most fascinated with in the preview is the conversation between John Snow and Mance Rayder. Although it’s also always fun to see what Varys is up to as well.

What do you hope to see in the season finale of Game of Thrones?
