Harrison Ford is being treated for what appears to be a fractured or broken ankle after sustaining an injury on the set of Star Wars: Episode VII. Variety reported that Ford was injured after “a hydraulic door reportedly fell down and hit him, possibly fracturing his ankle.”
Shooting will continue as scheduled on the film while Ford recovers from the ankle injury. Statement from Disney Studios:
“He was taken to a local hospital and is receiving care. Shooting will continue as planned while he recuperates.”
Hopefully he will have a speedy recovery and this unfortunate accident doesn’t slow things down too much. Ford, Carrie Fisher, and Mark Hamill are all reprising their original Star Wars roles in the greatly anticipated Star Wars sequel. There are no details yet about how big the three actor’s roles are but they appear to be much more than a simple cameo.
Star Wars: Episode VII, which is being directed by J.J.Abrams is scheduled to hit theaters December 18th, 2015.
