AMC Orders 2nd Season of Breaking Bad Prequel, Better Call Saul

Clearly AMC feels good about the Breaking Bad prequel, Better Call Saul. The first season hasn’t even premiered yet, but AMC recently pulled the trigger to renew the show for a second season. The first season order was for 10 episodes, the second season order is for 13 episodes according to Variety.

Better Call Saul will focus of course on Bob Odenkirk’s sleazy yet charming lawyer Saul Goodman at some time before he meets Walter White. Jonathan Banks will also appear in Better Call Saul as his Breaking Bad character Mike Ehrmantraut. Patrick Fabian, Eileen Fogarty, and Michael McKean will also appear in the series.

When I first heard about Better Call Saul I thought it was a horrible idea and that the Saul Goodman character shouldn’t leave the Breaking Bad universe. Maybe I’m just in Breaking Bad withdrawal, but recently the idea of this show has me a bit excited. Certainly I think the idea of Saul being a prequel is a great one and I absolutely loved the Mike Ehrmantraut character. So I’m willing to give Better Call Saul a shot. Are you going to tune in to the Breaking Bad prequel or just dig our your Breaking Bad DVDs when it premieres?

There are no air dates currently scheduled for either season of Better Call Saul.
